‘’   Fond memories of my child hood ‘’[  21]
When we were in my home town my dad used to sit very late at night going through the office files and all. My brother sister and myself  used to sleep in the next room,   from there we could see dad doing his work.After finishing his work,he used to call us to share the wheat and milk porridge.After giving us he used to pour a little hardly a spoon in a broken plate and kept it at the corner of the table.Even when he opens the jar containing  the milk and wheat porridge;a
white lizard with big shining eyes used to come fore ward from behind the window; for a moment it remained there;and then come forward to the broken plate and drank the milk. That lizard was very fair and looked so fresh;
that through the skin we could see the egg inside it’s tummy.After some seventy years when I make horlicks for my husband and me everyday a black
lizard With red mouth used to come forward from under the plate racket .
When I poured a spoon of horlicks for the lizard I saw my dad in my mind.And     this black lizard  licked away some seventyfive years from my shoulders and
Took me to my child hood days.There was a flowering plant near our window  and we noticed  a tiny bird with a long and sharp beak fluttering around the plant
We started watching the bird.In the plant we saw a small nest big enough only up to our fist hanging  and the bird going round and round and getting inside the nest.We peeped through  and saw eggs inside the nest and the bird spreading it’s feathers and sitting on the eggs to hatch.Every day without touching the nest we peeped through the opening of the nest .Qne day we heard the soft and shril voices of the baby birds.When we peeped through we saw three four egg like baby-birds clinging together like  tiny balls.My brother and myself kept it as a secret for not disturbing them by anyone.
